98 civic LX 200k miles yes or no???

i dont know if i should buy this car, its a 98 civic lx with 200k miles on it, it has all original parts on it. the price is 3k. i am thinking of getting it because i will be able to pay it in payments over 15months, and dont have a car right now... based on this, would it be worth buying, would i need a new engine soon, if so how much would it cost, would i need to replace anything else soon, is the price too much.........

Woah man 3K for a 11yr old car with 200k miles is not worth it. Keep searching u will find vics in 3K with mileage of 125-150K.

Hey, i posted in your other thread on this, but it must have gotten deleted due to double post. Anyways, i would definately try and talk the seller down more into the 2500 range or less. A honda that age will need the timing belt replaced which (if done by a pro) will cost almost 500. Also Just make sure you check over all the used car basics (oil, coolant, belts, axels, steering, tires, and rattles or shakes, etc) Dont be TOO worried about the miles if everything seems to have been well taken care of, because hondas are notorious for going into the 300k mile range. That said, tho, you shouldnt have to pay 3grand for an 11 year old car with 200grand on it, so talk the seller down or walk away, there are better civics for less money. I got my 98 ex last april for 3500 and it had 140k on it and had good tires and no problems (aside from the occasional small scratches)
