Re: Jiffy Lube: Just say NO!!!
well, i guess i'm lucky...
i just started going to J-Lube for oil changes... Once in NC, and once when I got back... The one I went to back here, all the employees are tuners :P The parking lot out front is filled with a variety of Civic hatches, and an Integra or two....you'd swear it's a civic meet!
they all seem cool, and i'm able to watch what they all do...
I like seeing all their cars out front. I'll try and snag a pic sometime :P
but yeah, that does suck for all those other ones...reading the experiences people have had.

Re: Jiffy Lube: Just say NO!!!
i will never let anyone do my oil again lol. its actually a very important process with alot to remember! you have to jack up the car, loosen drain bolt, let oil drain into container without spilling, clean off bolt, clean off pan threads, remember to put a new washer on the bolt, remove filter, put some oil in new filter and on the seal, reinstall filter as hard as you can by hand, reinstall the drain bolt and tighten to spec, oh yeah and then you have to add new oil! without spilling or overfilling. keep checking the level and dont overfill! better to have it slightly low than slightly over. dont forget to add lubecontrol LC20. its too much for a jl monkey to remember. i even have to check myself constantly and make sure i did everything properly.

Re: Jiffy Lube: Just say NO!!!
haha well some of that is true. i usually spend $35 for my oil and filter, but at least its only 2x a year. thats worth having a good oil and filter to me, and knowing everything is tightened properly. quick lube places use the cheapest filter possible, sometimes it barely costs more than $1 for a powerflo. the oil is whatever bulk crap they have sitting around. or sometimes its easier to leave the old oil in the car.

Re: Jiffy Lube: Just say NO!!!
and i used to deliver commercial parts there. the things i saw shocked me for life haha. and yeah they would always buy the $1 junk filters even if the customer wanted the best. because really, what customer would climb under the car and check? ive even heard they paint the case black if they ask for mobil1 filter. lmao!

Re: Jiffy Lube: Just say NO!!!
any basis for that? i ran mobil1 and napa gold but in the end switched back to K&N it just overall is a better filter to me but really it doesnt matter they are all good.
Re: Jiffy Lube: Just say NO!!!
I always hear these horror stories about Jiffy Lube and all these other spots. Now, I'm not saying they never screw over customers; in fact, I know they do, however, if you go in there with even the slightest perception that you know what you're doing and would potentially be able to call them out if they were to say use old, recycled oil, then they will definitely just leave you alone.
