Problem with aftermarket tail lights

I recently bought aftermarket tail lights online and they are LED, I installed them and tested the brakes, signals, etc.

Brake light works
Reverse light works
Hazard light works

Now here's where I ran into two problems:

When I turned on my headlights, my tail lights failed to light up at all.

My signal lights work, but they blink really, really fast as if to notify me of a problem.

I'm mainly concerned about my tail lights not turning on with my headlights because now I can't drive at night, and I heard I could be pulled over if my signal lights blink too fast because it's distracting to other drivers? I'm not sure if that's true.

All I did when I got the new tail lights was take the old ones out and plug in the new LED ones.

Does anybody know what's wrong? Help is greatly appreciated.

PS: The car is a 2004 Honda Civic EX

Re: Problem with aftermarket tail lights

i think i used to have those. the depo ones right? i dont see how the turn signals would be affected since they are kept stock filament bulb. maybe you just have a broken bulb. you might first try to switch the sockets around 180 degrees, like take them out and turn it a lil so the contacts are on opposite sides. i also remember those connectors were very loose. i ended up just cutting and splicing wires which was a pain to figure out what they do, but in the end it was more reliable.

Re: Problem with aftermarket tail lights

what about needing a resistor? they may be getting too much power, so they blink really fast... that first happened when i put in LED bulbs for my turn signals....got some resistors, solved the problem...

Re: Problem with aftermarket tail lights

but those tails use the stock turn signal bulb. the only part thats led is the brake and parking light. unless he hooked it up wrong which is my next guess. turn signal and reverse light are stock. you plug the middle top leds into the parking light socket, and the outer top leds into the brake socket.
