Engine Swap

Hey guys, what you think about installing a B16A into my 2002 Civic, sedan with the existing Automatic Transmission?
Any comments welcomed?

Thanks!

Re: Engine Swap

I have seen a B series mounted before, but why not go with the K series?

it's illegal. you have to install the same or new year motor into these cars. also you would have to make custom mounts and such. all that is not worth the trouble. You're only option is K series.

the B series mounted was off a 2001 and was installed in a 2001 civic. that is the only loophole you can use to install a B series motor. Again, not worth it, k series is worth it, B series is old news.

Re: Engine Swap

Several issues:
Yes its street-illegal to put an older motor in a newer car- you could probably still run it at the track
Your going to have to make a lot of custom stuff because its a non-standard swap, but it will fit- I think it was the AEM car that did it
Plus your transmission wouldn't work with the motor.

B's were cool, but emphasis on were.. K is the new B... and dont ask about putting an H series in our bay, or any other D- its the same story.
