Gah....it's been a long time since I removed my stock intake stuff.... Off the top of my head, it should be just the three bolts I circled in red. There might be a bolt underneath it the secures it to the tranny or clutch cable bracket (depending on whether you have an auto or manual), but like I said, it's been a while since I took it off.

Re: Help identifying parts plz
damn, page refreshed before I could post. second time:
Any intake made specificaly for the 7th gen D series motor should fit without problem, although dependent on MT/AT if your looking for a CAI vs a SRI.
There should be one bung for a sensor directly above the throttle body, and there should be one opening on the side of the intake to connect the breather tube which is for the crankcase (valve cover) to the intake tube.
The uninstall is fairly simple. The only problem I ran into was a factory ziptie underneath the air filter that was holding it down. Yes it was factory- it was green in color too. If you've ever played with disabeling a ziptie that was tied, you know how to take care of this- stick a nife in the back end and pull loose.
Here are some pictures for reference:
Intake manifold for reference, stays on engine:

Air filter:

Resonator chamber:

Enjoy.

Re: Help identifying parts plz
Its fine, it'll make a louder sound when sucking in air (aka stepping on the gas pedal). A plus is it will sound cooler, a downside is it will pull hotter air into your engine. Just dont remove the filter box because your going to suck unfiltered air into your engine.

Hey i know this isnt the thread for this but since im getting alot of reallyy good info from you guys ill ask anyway. searching got me no useful info. i took out my cat converter(not illegal here) and exhaust resonator. i put in a barrel but left my stock pipe. i can no longer get passed 170km/h it just sticks there. also my check engine light is on(i guess because there is no cat) is there any safe way to disable it or something?

Re: Help identifying parts plz
Since you have an LX, the ECU has a speed governor which caps you out at 170 km/h. No way around that unless you swap to an EX head, with the EX ECU, and then get your key re-flashed to work with the new ECU.
Your check engine light is a P0402 (or 0401?) Catalyst Ineffficiency code. It is not harmful, won't affect the way the car runs and won't go away unless you run a Spark Plug Defouler (search it on this forum), which backs you secondary O2 sensor off to fool the ECU into thinking there is a cat present.

Or get an O2 simulator. I think i touched on this (not sure if I added it yet) in the LX exhause FAQ link I have in my sig. Check it out to learn about your exhaust.
Re: Help identifying parts plz
hey guys i finally got my intake and i installed it. Sorry i couldn't get a DIY video. Anyway the real question is would tuning the car at this point give me any increase in performance/reliability? Thanks alot again to Speedfoos and and Triz i couldn't have done it without you guys and your very useful information.

Re: Help identifying parts plz
Any performance mod you add will get maximum results if you tune the car after adding it. The question is, how much do you want to pay to be able to tune it? You have to run a piggyback EMS at the very least and then pay a tuner to dial it in, and even then, you won't be looking at much more the 10-15 ponies. Depends on how much money you're ready to spend.
