Speeding in my civic DX

I just got my civic. It's my first car, I bought it off my step dad. It has 153,000 miles. I tend to go faster than I should and I was wondering if there is anything I shouldn't do like going up to really high rpm's and such or things I should do to my engine to keep it running clean. I'm not really knowledgeable about cars so really any advice is helpful.

Don't crash, it's probably the best thing you can do for your car.

Change your fluids often, keep it on the road while going fast, and sleep better at night knowing you could get another 100K miles out of it.

Re: Speeding in my civic DX

omg dud3, Civic's suck bro. Why'd u buy 1?!?!

Just kidding.

Keep on the maint like changin the fluids like said above
Other then that, drive the thing.

It takes time to do a car, so don't expect it to be a flow-blown race car with the best sound system unless you have sponership.

If you really get bored and want to do some mod's, I say check out the DIY section, It will BLOW your mind....well a little on the neat stuff and idea's people have done.

Might I suggest for the first mod being the BIG 3. That's switching your grounding cable. It performs a hellva lot better

I don't really see a point in putting money into such an old car. I don't really have a lot of money to spend anyway.

most DIY's are ow cost for money.

But if you're just going to drive it, Then for sure. Just drive it
Just keep the tire's rotated, lights glowing and the fluids top up.

Re: Speeding in my civic DX

Be nice to it when it is cold, that saves a lot of motor wear.

Re: Speeding in my civic DX

if you choose to switch to pure synthetic oil....which will make it run alot smoother (nothing powerwise)...DO NOT SWITCH BACK to regular oil...and be sure to use 5w20....and make sure that whoever does your oil changes uses 5w20. that has happened to me so i made them change it.
