Maybe a dumb question

But what exactly are the lx, dx etc etc? I mean I have an idea, but I've never seen it spelled out. And are the ex's any good for project cars?

Re: Maybe a dumb question

those are just trims for the cars. the main difference btwn the ex and the dx/lx would be the motor, ABS, and the sunroof.

as for project cars, theyre decent... if you have the money

Re: Maybe a dumb question

Ok how do the motors differ? I've tried researching this but not come up with much. I'm not talking about the newer 7thgen ones.

Re: Maybe a dumb question

Oftentimes (no matter what gen) the difference between an EX and an LX is that one had VTEC and one didn't. In my 6th gen, it had D16Y7 non-VTEC motor and the EX had the VTEC D16Y8.

Re: Maybe a dumb question

What year range are you talking about? 6th gen Si's came with a B-series, EX, LX and the rest were all SOHC slammas. Google is your friend man.

Hey thanks for the info. I read up on the B-series engine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_B_engine Do they sell civic type r's in the u.s.? I don't see them in the online blue book. I'm looking for a civic prob no older than 99 with lower mileage.

Btw I checked out your vids.

Re: Maybe a dumb question

The Civic Type R is not available in North America and also not available for import either. It's restricted.

But the first question people should be asking before giving you information should be, "Which country do you live in now?" The EX and Si in Canada are different from the EX and Si in the USA. There's also a SiR in Canada.
