Tein Service sucks. So does JRP.

Well I bought some tein flex coilovers a week and a half ago. I went to bolt them on and the hub holes on them were 16mm. This puzzled the crap out of me. So looked at the assembly diagram and realized thatI was missing the washers that go in the bottom that have the reducer to change the hole to 14mm. So i call up tein and tell them wuts going on they give me the whole crap about the part and then they tell me i need to order from a dealer because they cant do orders from their store. There are only 2 dealers in ontario. One is JRP and the other is Exotic Imports. I called jrp because I had heard of them before. The guy talks to me and basically says he doesnt want to sell me the part because the coilovers were not purchased from him. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Then he tells me that he could get me the part but they dont do online checkout or over the phone check out so the only way is to actually drive to missisauga (3 hours away from my house) to order parts that are $4 each. Not gonna happen.

Than I call exotic imports and the guy basically told me to email him asking for the part and he could hopefully work something out but it would still take 2-3 weeks to get the parts from the warehouse in California. That was an hour ago. Still no reply. Im gettin really pissed about this. Just sell me the part. I heard ksport makes a similar part I called them they only want $2 each they have them in stock and ready to ship. Its just im not 100% sure they will fit. I mean how much can u screw up with reducer washers but still As much as i love my tein coilovers i have to say their customer service really blows.

Re: Tein Service sucks. So does JRP.

That does blow. I'd just buy the Ksport washers. If they don't work, you're only out 10 bucks. If they do, then you'll be good to go. That's crappy about Tein not wanting to help you out though. Good luck man!

i don't know if it's a special washer that only TEIN Makes... but maybe you can check out a Home improvement store or something and pick up some washers that will work for really cheap...

just drill out the hole on the control arm to 16mm and stick a 16mm bolt thru.

Is this what you're looking for?
These are from my Tein Basics, should do the same thing.
The only problem is that I can only find six. How many do you need?
I have no idea where they could be, I havn't touch these washers or even looked in that drawer for a couple of years. I wonder if they only gave me six in the box....

Alright, I think they only sent me six, because I didn't use them when I installed my coilovers, and whatever I didn't use went into that drawer.

If you want em, their yours.

Although I would just drill it out and use a bigger bolt to make it easier.

That's cool, I'm sure it would have cost him the same amount in gas or more, Ha ha, it's all good. I'm glad it got taken care of though. Anything for a fellow tuner to get dropped! YAY!
