How to spend $750 dollars in a day
How to spend $750 dollars in a day
Well in order to completly tune a stage 2 cam in a 7thgen without going all out standalone i invested in the Emanage ultimate with a boomslang plug and play harness around 750 bucks of greddy love in hopes the car will be tuned correctly i have to take to the only import shop in town were they rape you its going to cost 350 to tune a damn civic but i look at the fun launch control bumped up rev limiter and all the goodies
Re: How to spend $750 dollars in a day
I spent the same amount buying an Emanage ultimate with a boomslang plug and play harness and the tuner didn't get it working !!!
....but nobody here in Brazil tuned a emanage ultimate before !!!
Is your car turbo or just a stage 2 cam ?
If you get it working, can you SELL me how to do this ? Jumper settings, maps and tricks ? Then i'll go to dyno and finish the job.
Gilberto

so you're gonna spend $1400 for a cam, emanage, and a tune? daaayyyyuuuummmm! you're halfway to a turbo and nowhere near half the power of a turbo.
to each his own. you gonna dyno it? post the numbers when you're done.

In fact, I'd bet you'd have more useable power with a stock cam and well tuned standalone than you would with a stage II cam and a piggyback.

Re: How to spend $750 dollars in a day
well with the set up you chose you would have made the same power with a stage 1 cam no tuning and no valve springs and retainers.
the stage 2 cam give a higher lift and duration but it really isnt going to give the full benefit unless you raise the rev limiter the 1k rpms it allows for.
so basically you wasted your money as far as power goes if you dont do the EMS. the emanage is constantly going to try to correct the maps you program as well making drivability horrible. ask everyone here who has a stage 2 cam and a piggyback

thats fine everybody can say what they want im happy with it the power of the cam is great and the shop i have tuning hold the record for most power from a civic on a dyno so im not to worried that car wont be tuned right because it will
Re: How to spend $750 dollars in a day
What shop is this you speak of?? Also now that Hondata offers K-pro, how do you guys feel about that for these types of applications?? I know from a tuning stand point K-pro is great, and there are a ton of good tuners out there because it has been out for so long for the other platforms. I am really interested to see dynos, be sure to post the type of dyno, the gear, and the base line.
BTW there is not a single thing on my "wish list" that I could pickup for $750.

Re: How to spend $750 dollars in a day
I'll be very surprised to see over 115 whp with emanage and stage 2 cam. With the kpro, stock cam, you could have put down around 125-130ish. Yeah, I'd also like to know what shop you're talking about and what civic they pulled the most power from and how much power that was. In your first post, you say you are "in hopes" that it will be tuned correctly, now you say "you know" it will be tuned correctly. Which is it?
Re: How to spend $750 dollars in a day
its sublime speed technology and im already at 130 to the wheels the kpro i thought of but there is a lot of middle man there have to find a k series ecu or buy one then they dont have a plug and play harness thats why i didnt choose them
Re: How to spend $750 dollars in a day
K series ecu's are all over the place. Not hard to find at all. I picked up a pnr ecu for 140 shipped. Plug n play? K series ecus are plug and play with our engine wiring harnesses. There are maybe 2 or 3 wires you have to relocate if you want to run closed loop.... If you tune for open loop, you don't have to do anything.

there you guys go my bad only 125 whp but it was still making power when it hit the rev limiter so ill find out this week what it really does when we cut the rev limiter to 7500
as you can also see how much the cam added i was at 109 whp at 6600 with no torque and now im at 125 whp with no torque

Re: How to spend $750 dollars in a day
i think that what he is trying to get at is that for a cam he made 16whp and that not that bad because i am sure that its not the only thing tha he has done or is goin to do to his car...but for the emanage i would much rather spend the couple extra houndred buck and go and get the kpro because u dont wanna have to upgrade ur **** a lil while down the road when u should have done it in the first place....
