mrs Recently purchased a Civic 1.4i X reg 4 door saloon.
Only one key and transmitter supplied with car.Had a spare key cut by a locksmith and it opens the car doors but will not start the engine!!
On checking with a Honda agent I was told a new key would be around £30 and to have it coded another £20.Also a spare transmitter would be around £70.
Is there a cheaper way of getting a spare set of keys and transmitter please?

My name is Drew Burney. I had the same problem. I bought my 03 civic lx and the dealer only supplied me with one key. My civic didnt come with a transmitter. there is a chip that has to be in the key to start the car. if you go to a dealer. which is about the only option. it will cost alot of money. go to and auto zone or advance auto. they might be able to get u on for alot less.
