Exclamation I am so screwed!!!!

I turned my auto 01 civic in to a 5-speed using the auto ECU and now it will not pass smog beacuse of the shift selinods that are sending error codes. I have a 5-speed ECU but when I plug it in the car will not start it will turn over just fine but will not fire, although there is the possbility that the 5-speed ECU is no good because i pulled it from a wreaked car. It also has only 3 plugs where the auto ECU has 4. Im wondering if I am going to have to buy a MT wiring harness.

you guys are my last hope or my car is going to be junk because I will not be able to register it. Any insight would be much apreaciated. if you want pictures i will get some.

damn dude... take it to auto zone or napa and get it scanned to see if its bad.

other then that, there are some real smart guys on here that have the answer to your question. Just getting them so see this is going to be a problem. Search the site very carefully, I think I read something about this once before.

Other then that, this much need BUMP is for you.

BTW- you can pay a fee so that you can drive a non smog passing car around for a month or so- not sure how much the fee is, but it should give you plenty of time to get it fixed!

Did you have the immobilizer reflashed? Your key has to match the ECU. This could be the problem.

The 5 speed ecu should be fine, its not starting because you have to have the ecu reflashed. It costs maybe $120 to have it flashed at Honda. Bring the car there with the auto ecu running it then have them flash the 5 speed ecu. I dont know what other codes you might throw after wards but this is the only way you gonna get it running right.

the -01 does have a immobilizer, go to honda and get them to change the code for the manual ecu. it will cost about 70 dollars.
