EP Pro's & Con's
i love mine.
only con for me is how long it takes to get parts for it!!!
having a new body and a new motor - it takes FOREVER for the aftermarket to get into gear.
Aside from that - 2yrs and 42,000mi later i can't stand to think of owning anything else!!

I put up a post in the general auto ramblings today about the Si.
The car gets a
from me just because the car is REALLY easy to drive right from the get go. The car has a nice shifter placement, light clutch, comfy seats, and smooth quite engine.
Remember a fast car doesn't automatically equal a fun car. i would rather spend money on a car like the Si which has good acceleration, ok handling, and gets good mileage on 87 octane

BUT, because the car isn't selling well most people bought it for around $26-27G's on the road and that my friend is an amazing price. There is no way in hell the car will sell brand new for $15K. Even if its $15k before taxes, after taxes and everything the car will list at under $20G's which is less than what the dealership pays for the car! If you can find a dealer whos selling at this price, post it up on this board so that I can trade in my '02 SiR and get an '04 as a straight trade in for the car!

ummmmm ur in canada man.....im almost positive his price is in AMERICAN dollars lol
15k is not impossible...ive heard of people gettin 15.7 and 16.2 new so its not too crazy...
I dont know where your gettin your pricing from but I know for a fact that the dealers only pay about 15K for the cars. Depends on how much volume they can sell. The dealer I use to work for would pick them up cheap couse of the volume they would sell in civics alone. Thats what the priceing is based on, how much of a certain model they sell makes the price. So, yeah, 15,500 or 15K is about right for an 03 Si thats been sittin on the lot for a while. Remember, they still have to pay taxes on every car thats on the lot at the begining of the year. So, they blow the cars out around the end of the year to save money. Dealers loose more money when they dont sell cars that are hard to move then they do when they sell them cheap. Honda, as well as other manufactures give dealers incentives and dealer cash for sellin the cars, no matter how much they sell it for. Its a business where no matter what, the dealer wont loose money.
I got my Si brand new for $17k right when it came out.
The next day it dropped to $16k which kind sucked but oh well.
Not it sells well new for $14-$15g range.
02-03 is nicer than 04 IMO though
but I love em all :-)

the dealers pay 17,426 for the 04 si's. I got my 04 for 17,900 (with the destination chagre added) so basically i got it at invoice price

It seems to me that if you're paying anywhere near 30k, even in canadian dollars, that's way too much. last I checked the exchange rate was about 1.35 to 1, so at 18k in US dollars, you'd pay 24,300 in canada.
But then again, what do I know? I leased mine.
as for the original post in this thread, the only downside to it aside from the looks (it really grows on you once you get it, though), is the transmission on the '02s, but I think they improved that in the newer ones.

I haven't tried taking mine in yet, but I really should get it done since I only have 10k left on the warranty and it takes some people multiple visits before it gets fixed properly.
04 Si
I used to have a 2003 Honda Civic EX. I was gonna upgrade it etc, etc. Instead i traded it in for a 04 si. I fell in love with it when i took it for a test drive. Once i lowered it just about 1" (for now), it didn't have the look of a mini van any more. It handles like a dream. There is barely any body roll. The shifter is in the perfect spot. I can't wait to upgrade this si. It's worth modding. Theres a big difference between 127hp in my old civic ex, and my brand new 04 Si that's stock 160hp. Along with being a lighter car. The only thing i do not like about the 04 si. Is the stock head lights. Really ugly and bubbly. Just have to wait for aftermarket products.
