ok, let me be the first to warn you that you will probably get flamed for this. It may sound like a good question in your head, but think about it.
1) What would Honda gain by having a turbo on the civic si? it is already one of the best selling cars in the US right now.
2) Your probably gonna say that they would sell more cars if they put a turbo on it. Now this is kind of a weird topic, because only a certain percentage of the population would understand why a turbo on a car would be good. True, most of the tuners would jump at this chance, but normal people wouldn't pay much attention to it, especially since most of them don't realize what a turbo does.
just a few things to think about when you ask a question like that.

Everytime I hear someone say that they heard the "next year model" is going to be a Type-R or something specail, I won't believe it until I see on on the dealer lot.
I guess that I've heard so many rumors about the EP3 that I can't believe anything until it's confirmed.

I seriously doubt they would leave the world of N/A.
But with regards to the Type R. They're due to bring something here and I heard last year that the Integra Type R was gonna make a return....My money's on that if anything. Now that's a car I'll shell out for.

Yeah I hear ya. I would love to see the Civic Type R over here at least once in my lifetime. The guy who I work with in the UK has one and I hate him...haha.
I don't think honda will ever bring the type r civic to stateside. Last year Motor Trend did an article on the type r and said that it would be out a 2004 model, well here are in 2004 and no type r. Just a HFP Si with ugly *** tailights and headlights.
if anything it would be more matched up to the turbo srt-4, wrx/sti, and the evo. the Ep does seem to be selling more than them but cometition is only going to get harder, so they probably figure if they go turbo and get some bigger number it will attract more kids as does the ones mentioned and maybe a couple more.. and then from there the turbo would be upgradable instead of buying a whole kit... that is how I would see it..

They must have 10 versions of the Civic in the UK. I got the Civic brochure from a co-worker in the UK.

Um, you may want to rephrase this. Cause there is no way in hell the SI is one of the best selling cars in the US. Civics, yes. Si civics, no way.
