Odd oil change question need advice
Odd oil change question need advice
Odd question. I just did a liqui molly flush. I changed my oil, put new oil in with liqui molly and idled. Dumped that and out new good oil in. I had a mobile one filter good for 20,000 miles on and didn't change it 😬 would there be enough molly left in whatever oil stayed in the filter to hurt anything? Just wanted peace of mind I figured it would be ok.

I should have added the box says 20k iv only ran it around 2k so far which is why I didn't think to change it. I'm thinking I will dilute with the 1.5 I have left. At that point I think it should be safe.

Re: Odd oil change question need advice
I change my filter every other oil change at a minimum, depending on if I have the filter I want or settled for whatever came in the AutoZone oil+filter deal. Last 2 oil changes were Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, and I didn't do my filter last change because I used a Purolator BOSS filter. Next change will have a filter change, for sure
Re: Odd oil change question need advice
do this which a friend of mine told me about:
for example all products for my 2019 Civic that I just bought are here:
https://www.searchforparts.com/oil-c...5l-l15be-turbo
capacity for engine, transmission, etc. and I swapped out all the oils. It is good for a solid year or 15,000 miles. The oil consumption in my other vehicle disappeared, before it was burning 1 full quart every month and 2 mechanics could not find any leaks (it was a Toyota). Try it out, look up your vehicle and keep the engine running great. You can go with other oils as well, just flush it all out and put Royal Purple with a wix filter, up to you.
