Buying a Used Honda Civic 2006

Hi, I am looking to buy a used Honda Civic 2006 with 116000 miles on it, Automatic transmission.
I dont know much about the cars and I am new in city so dont know any mechanic either.
Help me with what all should I be looking for.
If the car runs smooth during test drive, without any particular noise, should I still worry about its timing belt (I am told it has not been changed).
Is there anything specific to Civic 2006 that I should be concerned about.
Thanks in advance for helping!!

2006 does NOT have a timing belt.

Have a prepurchase inspection done before you decide to buy.

Hope to God you have a fair and decent Honda dealer there. Ask other Honda owners.

they are great cars. Great MPG, low maintenance, low cost if it ever needs repairs, comfortable, last forever when taken care of and they hold a great resale value.

Think that it will be a good idea to find a mechanic and ask him to look at the car you are planning to buy... pay him some cash for this.

I'd definitely have someone (a mechanic or someone who knows Hondas) inspect your car. The previous owner saying the belt hasn't been changed when there's no belt to begin with is a yellow flag for me. Pay generously when you get your car inspected. Use yelp to find mechanics around you.

Re: Buying a Used Honda Civic 2006

Hi, Im owning 2006 Civic for 2 years, and I got it not just used but it also had an accident damage. (but I was looking for cheap honda salvage car because I didn;t have nough money to buy a new or one) So of course I needed to make some repairings, and I can say that if you have any doubts you should have auto mechanic any specialist inspect your car and then you decide to buy it or not.
