Fuel smell coming from rear of 04 Civic
Fuel smell coming from rear of 04 Civic
Hi all,
I am looking for some advice, opinions, etc. I have a 04 Honda Civic. Noticed when I parked it in the garage yesterday that there was a very strong fuel smell coming from the rear of my car. I opened the hood and didn't smell much of anything there, it was coming from the rear end. I looked underneith and didn't see any leaks. Any bit of information would be great. Thank you.

I have that same problem. I was reading that it could be an evap leak, if there is no fuel dripping on the ground. The evap canister is next to the fuel tank.
Re: Fuel smell coming from rear of 04 Civic
I just changed the tank on my son's '93. The seam had rusted out and it was slowly leaking out. There was a small puddle when the car had been run for an hour or so. It did not leak after a short trip. The tank is so close to the exhaust that I did not want him to chance it any longer.
