Rep Power: 0 97 Civic CX Won't Start
Hi,
A few days ago, my Honda stopped working suddenly. I went into the store for groceries, came back out, and it would not start. I spent quite a bit of time trying to narrow down what the issue is, and am convinced that it has something to do with fuel delivery. However, I'm not quite sure what could die so fast? Here is what I have checked:
1) The starter turns the engine, the camshaft is turning and I am getting spark at the plugs, so that kinda rules out ignition/distributor.
2) I can hear the fuel pump turn on/off (~2 seconds) when the car is turned to the on position.
3) The diagnostic codes on the computer are reporting "misfire detected" on cylinder 1 and 2, as well as "catalytic system out of efficiency".
4) The cylinders sound like they are getting compression just fine.
Any thoughts regarding what might cause such a sudden death after it was running fine?
Thanks,
-Rob
