Exclamation Oil leak help!

First off ive never owned a civic b4 so i have no idea

ok heres the deal i have a 1998 honda civic lx 4dr with a d16y8 swap..now i only know that b.c a friend of mine i have no idea about motors. Now i just bought it for real cheap and it has a bad oil leak back by the vtec solenooid, thats what im told it is. Has anyone had this problem? idk if its the valve gasket, or maybe the solenoid gasket... im going to attach some pics..and i have a few more questions..the first picture is the motor obvs.. the second picture is where the leak seems to be starting, if thats the vtec solenoid then it seems to be under there. The third pic is a plug that the guy broke n im being told is the vtec plug or something b.c the vtec isnt engauging at all.. PLEASE HELP ME!!!


if anyone lives near the jersey shore n wouldnt mind comin by to look at it n give me a hand that would be ****in awsome maybe ill throw u a few bucks or some beer or somethin idk... i'd greatly apritiate it b4 i start dumpin money into it n fixing **** that doesnt need to be fixed..

How many miles are on the engine? I'm viewing from my phone, but it doesn't look bad at all. If the engine has high mileage, it wouldn't hurt to change out the valve cover gasket and spark plug seals. I'm just guessing. I'm not very familiar with all the Honda stuff right now. I'm chaning the gasket on my 94 Corolla, and that's why it's been leaking. Yours could be completely different.

Yes it looks like your VTEC gasket is leaking. Doesnt look too bad from the pictures, is it pissing out or just some oil residue?

its bad just cant get my head into the back to c where its from but its in that area like right under it it seems
