I have a 1997 civic DX, 1.6 I believe its a non VTEC. Idling funny, but it comes and goes.

hey all My civic threw a code. P0401 "faulty EGR valve"
Blocked EGR passage.

I live in a small town no repair manuales at any STORE!!!

I need help locating the EGR valve, and help dissasembling it to clean it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found a Haynes repair manual! NO where in the damn thing does it tell you or show you where the EGR valve is!!!! HELP!

its just this piece in the engine bay near the engine. you cant really clean it, i took it off to try but the carbon is really stuck to it. i think you just need a new one.

this is for 01-05 civic but same idea. its on the left of the engine with that weird greenish sticker on top and the big grey connector going to it.

I appreciat it alot. Mine isnt located there. I've seen them there, but mine isnt there, I will take pick of my engine bay. I like the pic of your civic in your sig. I had an 01 ex sedan thats the same color of yours, but had gun metal rims. i wish i hadnt gotten rid of it...
