synthetic or regular motor oil ????
on highway i get anywhere from 40-45 mpg. i once got 50 but that was about 2yrs ago when thr engine only ha about 20k on it. but i mostly do city driving and i still get about 32-34 mpg in city, and i drive with a lead foot. when i was using conventional oil i was getting 28-30 mpg in city. Gearbox, what exactly is this dino oil and how much and where do you get it?
Hello All, New here. Checking posts.
I am a firm beliver in Amzoil and use it in all my vehicles. I too saw a 2 mpg improvment in fuel mileage at the swap over. I am OCD when it comes to recording gas data and maintenance in general. I personally believe synthetic is less expensive in the long run.

i haven't noticed an mpg improvement. BUT i have noticed a difference when it is really cold outside (ie. below freezing). the car seems to warm up quicker; it reaches the "normal" idle rpm range of 500-700 faster. it usually starts at 1200 rpm on cold mornings.
i'm no engineer, but it seems easier on the engine in the cold weather.
