When creating a post with pics you can use the link underneath the smileys to insert your images from your gallery (My Photos - Select). It doesn't open up Members Rides but instead it opens a window with the images in thumbnail view for a quick pick.
Note: If you don't see that option then you'll need to change the Editor that you're using.
Changing Editors:
1) Go to your UserCP and select Edit Options from the left menu.
2) Scroll to the bottom to Miscellaneous Options.
3) Select (from the drop down) - at least the Standard Editor or the Enhanced Editor.
4) Save Changes
Should be good to go now.
