Shift Boot Replacement
<p><font face="Verdana">What you will need: Replacment Shiftboot, Knowledge of </font><a href="http://www.7thgencivic.com/modules.php?s=&name=DIY&pa=showpage&pid=53" target="_blank"><font face="Verdana">How To Remove Center Console</font></a><font face="Verdana">. *small* Flathead Screwdriver (or prying tool), Needlenose Pliers (or caloused & strong pulling fingers). </font></p><p><font face="Verdana">Time Needed: 20 mins. 10 mins with </font><a href="http://www.7thgencivic.com/modules.php?s=&name=DIY&pa=showpage&pid=53" target="_blank"><font face="Verdana">Center Console</font></a><font face="Verdana">removal knowledge.</font></p><p><font face="Verdana">Alright here's instructions on how to replace your shiftboot, or for those of you that simply want to keep it stock but remove that annoying GRAY plastic coupling for the stock shift ****.</font></p><p><font face="Verdana">The boot I installed was a DIY boot that I made myself, I made the boot myself, but do not have the templates or measurements online, so please don't hassle me...i'm a busy guy...if you're lucky and i ever do *digitize* them you'll find them up here.</font></p><p><font face="Verdana">If you simply wish to know how to remove that grey plastic coupling for the stock boot and keep the stock boot, </font><a href="http://www.7thgencivic.com/modules.php?s=&name=DIY&pa=showpage&pid=32&page=3" ><font face="Verdana">skip to that step here.</font></a></p><br /><br /><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"><tbody><tr><td><font face="Verdana"><img height="320" alt="Shiftboot Unit" src="/diyimages/shiftboot01.jpg" width="480" /></font></td><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><h3><font face="Verdana">1.</font></h3><p><font face="Verdana">Okay so this is what you should have after removing your center console and unscrewing the trim piece that the shiftboot is attached to.</font></p></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2"><font face="Verdana"><img height="1" alt="1" src="/images/cl.gif" width="1" /></font></td></tr><tr><td><font face="Verdana"><img height="320" alt="The Boot Is Stapled" src="/diyimages/shiftboot02.jpg" width="480" /></font></td><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><h3><font face="Verdana">2.</font></h3><p><font face="Verdana">Alright, now turn this piece upside down and you should see that the boot has been stapled to keep it in place, take your small flathead screwdriver or other prying tool to carefully pry up the ends of the staples, now if you're strong enough pull the staples through the plastic, otherwise use a needle nose plier to remove them.</font></p><p><font face="Verdana">Do this around the entire perimeter.</font></p></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2"><font face="Verdana"><img height="1" alt="1" src="/images/cl.gif" width="1" /></font></td></tr><tr><td><font face="Verdana"><img height="320" alt="All Staples Removed" src="/diyimages/shiftboot03.jpg" width="480" /></font></td><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><h3><font face="Verdana">3.</font></h3><p><font face="Verdana">With all the staples removed, you should be able to tug up on the boot and it should slide out of the trim piece.</font></p></td></tr></tbody></table><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"><tbody><tr><td><font face="Verdana"><img height="320" alt="The Trim Piece" src="/diyimages/shiftboot04.jpg" width="480" /></font></td><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><h3><font face="Verdana">4.</font></h3><p><font face="Verdana">As you unlock each tab, continue pulling up on the piece and work your way around until you have the piece removed.</font></p></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2"><font face="Verdana"><img height="1" alt="1" src="/images/cl.gif" width="1" /></font></td></tr><tr><td><font face="Verdana"><img height="320" alt="Pulling up on the Silver bevel" src="/diyimages/shiftboot05.jpg" width="480" /></font></td><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><h3><font face="Verdana">5.</font></h3><p><font face="Verdana">On the side that has the screw on it, pull up on the silver bevel piece.</font></p></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2"><font face="Verdana"><img height="1" alt="1" src="/images/cl.gif" width="1" /></font></td></tr><tr><td><font face="Verdana"><img height="320" alt="All Staples Removed" src="/diyimages/shiftboot06.jpg" width="480" /></font></td><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><h3><font face="Verdana">6.</font></h3><p><font face="Verdana">While still pulling up on the piece (*not shown in pic* -
