Cleaning pistons
Cleaning pistons
I took the head off my 2001 LX, and there were some deposits on top of the cylinders, which I'd like to remove. Before I took the timing belt off, I set the crank to top dead center. As you can see from the picture below, cylinders 2 and 3 are going to be difficult to clean. Will it do any harm if I turn the crankshaft until cylinders 2 and 3 are at the top and are therefore easier to clean?

Re: Cleaning pistons
Spin the crankshaft all you want. Just put it back to #1TDC before you stick the head back on.
