1st DIY Post: Painted Spark Plug Wire Cover.
So.. this is my first DIY post! woohoo! Well I decided to paint my spark plug wire covers to match my AEM short ram intake. Sry in advanced for some of the pic quality. I only used my cell phone. Well here it is:
Products used: Duplicolor Auto Spray Primer/Scratch filler, Duplicolor Blue Metalcast Spray paint, Exacto Knife, Scott's Painter's tape, and 3m painter sandpaper. I got the paints and sand paper from an Autoparts store. The Exacto knife and painters tape from home depot. All together around 23 bucks.

Cover: To take of the cover you just turn the two tabs. I just used a nickle. lol

Tape up: I decided to tape up the VTec part of it. Use the exacto knife and I doubled up the tape on each letter. This take some patience, but worth it.

Sand then Primer: I forgot to take a pic of it sanded, but all you do is a very light sanding for better adhesion. Clean the cover dirt or grease and such, but I did two coat of primer. After two coats of primer:

After Primer Dried: I let it dry over night, but only cause it was like midnight it was dried probably in less than an hour:

First coat of Duplicolor Metalcast Blue:

After Second coat: I let that dry for about 5 hours and then took off the tape on the VTEC:

And the AFTER PHOTO:

Then I ended up doing the top of the ignition coils too:

Well that's it. It was very simple and easy mod. Leave comments to let me know what you think! Thanks!

Re: 1st DIY Post: Painted Spark Plug Wire Cover.
it looks pretty good. i like that you used a paint that looks glossy and metallic sort of when its all done. looks good with the intake.
i personally am not going to do that small plastic plug cover, but ive been thinking that i might do the actual big metal valve cover underneath it eventually.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think my next project is the Black engine enamel for my heat shield i saw on Anticrime's DIY. Also try to fix the rattle on my rear deck.. not sure what I am going to try, but got some ideas from reading some posts today.

get some of that foam padding on a roll in the weatherstrip section. and stuff it in different places around the rear deck

Nice DIY. Not a fan of the colour though... personally I would have painted the letters a different colour rather than leave them the old colour.
I want to paint mine but I'm not sure what colour I should do it.. perhaps I should do it SSM like the body? *shrug*

Same exact color I did last year
Cept, I didn't primer it, or sand it,
I just painted it, then took a large sharpie, and colored in the letters, looks more glossy that way
