Removing the factory headunit in a 7th Gen Honda Civic

<table><tbody><tr><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><font face="Verdana">First thing you need to do is remove the piece of the dash that has the lighter plug and pocket. It is held in using only clips. A good way to remove it us to insert your fingers of your right hand into the pocket palm up and stick your thumb in the lighter plug. Grip and it should pull straight out, it takes a bit of force.</font>

<tr><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><font face="Verdana">Get down low and you will see two screws towards the right side of the opening. Remove these so you can pull out the part of the dash that houses the radio and AC controls.</font>

<tr><td bgcolor="#dcdcdc"><font face="Verdana">To remove this part of the dash, it is best to reach up inside the dash and find something to push this part out enough that you can get your fingers under it. It takes some force to push this out; it is connected with 5 clips. Once it is out, remove all the plugs, and remove the 3 screws that hold the climate controls in. Now you can remove the stock head unit and install your new one.</font>

Will the keyless entry and/or the anti-theft system be affected by the removal of the radio?

I'm so confused as to what happened with your post. Post within a post.. Serious post-ception.. lol

In any case, to answer your question.. I've removed my radio numerous times and have had zero issues with my keyless entry/anti-theft. I had issues with my anti-theft, but it was related to the anti-theft module itself, completely unrelated to removal of the head unit. If you remove the stock radio and reinstall it, you will, however, need the radio code to be able to use the stock head unit again. Just a forewarning.

Has anyone removed the head unit on a 2002 civic Si, it has the shifter built into the dash?
