Battery group size upgrade

I just did a battery group size upgrade for more capacity, since I use an inverter to run fridge/freezer, fans and air purifier in my camper converted civic. The original smaller battery (group 51) only had about 35 amp hours, 625CA, 500CCA, while the new (GROUP 34) optima yellow top has 55AH, 870CA, 750CCA, which is enough to last overnight with engine off and pull power. With the dual use, deep cycle yellow top battery, I can now drain the battery down to 50% without permanently damaging capacity or performance.

You have all that in a Civic? I would be interested to see.

Does it fit the battery tray? Or did you have to change/modify it?

I did remove the battery tray, I did modify the battery securement top bracket by hammering the tab that pokes down to go against the old battery side. It's a bit of a squeeze to get the strap bolt to go in, but it does fit.
