Light Weight Muffler?

The drivetrain in my car is currently stock and I gather that there's not too much power to be gained with STS i/h/e mods. But I'm wondering if a light race style muffler (Pegasus has a 4lb 2" straight thru style) with the stock resonator would be good for a few low$ hp and some weight loss. Anybody have a guess on the weight of the stock muffler by itself?

Chris

yeah. i mean it'll be a few lbs. lighter and you'll get couple extra horsepower, but it wont be anything noticeable.

prolly gank the resonator too... BUT here's a thing i found out.... the stock downpipe has a "cheater" pipe in it. I don't know what its for, but there's a 1 3/4" pipe inside the 2.25" one... get a new stock DP made and welded to the front of the cat w/o the cheater pipe (think ghetto high flow cat, but prolly still legal, and completely undetectable if it isn't). That may be part of the cork. I should also think you may just want to ditch the whole stock exhaust for a 2" one.
