Well, I was representing the 7th gen in HPDE Group 1/2 at the NASA So Cal event which happened on the 8th and 9th of October. Running track configuration #13 going clockwise and it was a blast. My first track event to enter and a lot of fun. Though I have the money I am only going to investing in some tires and rims, oh and as much seat time as I can get. I want to see myself push the limits of the car, plus learn the line and be smooth. By the end of today (Sunday) I was running in 3rd gear into all corners except for the buttonhook corner which was my only 2nd gear corner. At some points I was running into 4th gear but quickly dropped down to 3rd. Oh my only current mods to the stock '03 LX are '03 Si wheels with BFGoodrich G-Sports, Powerslot rotors with Hawk HPS pads on the front and stainless steel brake lines with Super Blue brake fluid. My changes for the next event will be Falken Azenis ST-615's with a to be announced rim choice and a better brake pad that can last the weekend since I started to have brake fade at the end of Sunday.

I'd recommend the MXs over the Azenis for track days. I've seen a lot of pictures of the 615s with blisters on them from the track. Falken still hasn't fixed the overheat issue with the tire compound. Its better, but its not fixed.
I used to run HPDE 3/4 with Kumho MX. Running 3/4 is tuff with a civic. HDPE 4 is basically racers with really really fast cars that knows how to drive but don't have the money to race.
