i'm so depressed that i haven't done a open track event since Oct 2004
i'm so depressed that i haven't autoXed since Sept 2004
I'm so depressed that I haven't karted since Dec 2004
I get the shakes every time i see my car parked in a parking lot, betting it for to be tracked. Anyone going thru the same situation? Saving up money for future fun really really SUCKS
I'm currently paying off my credit card and school loans
GM Master Card: Now $1400, $3500 in Dec 2004
Discover Card: Now $400, $995 in Dec 2004
Military Star Card: Now $700, $980 in Dec 2004
School loan: Now $4350, $4590 in Dec 2004
Future purchase:
$4k go kart, April (saved up money)
$4-6k for 600cc motorcycle (loan)
$1-1.5k for 91 miata (saved up money)

I know how you feel man...
When I bought my Miata, I had just enough time to run it once before the season was over, now that the season is almost open, im doing the wedding/honeymoon thing(which I wouldnt trade for anything BTW). So now I get to sit & look at her(miata) all sad wanting a track, & pretend to be racing on the way to work every day...yea its like a crack withdrawall.
But I only have to miss like 1 race, & 1 autoX class, then im hitting the track with a brand new set of KYB AGX 8 way adj shocks & a 4pt roll bar, then coming home to a beautiful wife & a damn nice apartment, so its not bad at all, just waiting sucks.
At least the week of sex, drinking, & skiing in Colorado(honeymoon) will help curb the withdrawall pains

I just talked to my parents over the phone and they helped me realize something. If i buy a house and get enough money from rent by getting roommates, I can own a house. They offered to help me pay for a down payment. I can sell the house here in central coast california when I get started somewhere else where property costs a lot less and make BANK.

believe me, I know exactly what you guys are talking about, I was autocrossing my 00 Focus ZX3 for 1 season then I got engaged so I had to stop for a while, plus the car was always breaking, then I got married, got a house, got a new car, and now I am about to start racing my 04 Civic. As of now I am not changing anything on the car and am going to run HS, I may end up getting a set of 7 spoke SI / EX wheels and putting some kumho slicks or new falken azenis on them strictly for racing. So i'm pinching pennies and saving as much as I can when I can. In fact I just bought a helmet for the next upcoming autocross Feb 20 in CENLA.
I can relate.
Trust me.
On top of that, my wife is becoming more and more interested in autocrossing and I probably will let her autocross her car one day soon. I love how you can corrupt some women.

I'm going crazy being away from my car and racing. Miss it almost more than my wife. I want to get into auto x but I need some coilovers, hopefully the omni's will be out soon. Sounds like they are really good for a person a budget like me. Roughly 80 more days, but even when I get back I have to remodel my house and all this money I'm stacking is going towards 10k total credit card debt and the house. I probally won't have much left after that. Good thing is I'll have most of my debts payed and I'll be able to pay cash for things. With the money I was paying on credit cards I'll now be able to pick something new up each month.

yeah I know, but I the stock struts and the s-tecs are so soft. I don't really want to compete. I just want to get out there and get to know the limits of my car and have fun. I guess I'm just looking for an open track type event.

I allways push that you should build your suspension slowly 1 piece at a time. Better still that you have experiance with the car as it sits now. Otherwise, how will you know what the car needs for best performance? and if you change a bunch of things at once and the the car ends up not handling the way you want. How will you know what part is giving you the problem? Those Omni Coilovers may be fine and good for the street, but they may be unsutilble for track use... we don't know. it would be a good idea to find out the Damper rates, and if they are adjustible what do they adjust (Highspeed, lowspeed, Rebound, Bump Ect...) and find out what the spring rates are. Ect.... I think this part of the reason why Konis are so Common and popular within the racing crowd (Autocross, Road raceing ect) Because they are of a known quality, and people know what they adjust and what range they adjust in...and they are Easily re-buildable and re-valveable. ect....

^^^ Well then you suck.
I have to wait until April 3 to get my ******* out. This is really starting to suck. Theres those days every once in a while now where it breaks 50 degrees and I think.... "Hmm Sure seems like a great day for an Autocross."
