yeah i know that part, but isnt it bad if theres too much of the actual rubber of the tires? also isnt it best for my to keep the steelies then since most aftermarket wheels are heavier?

If you are looking for the maximum acceleration and cornering power then you should be looking for a nice light 15x7" wheel. tie that in with a tire that has a nice stiff sidewall (Falken Azenis, Kumho MX ect.), and you'd be set.

what would be better if i did go autoxing...swapping my 17s out for my stock steelies on some new tires...or run the 17s on my yokohama es100s? or shell out for those imitation work emotions and tires?

I would say your stockers with some azenies would be better. You could get some rotas or knockoffs too. 17s are gonna be too big.

It can be done... I did it. The extra stiffness from the shorter sidewall doesn't make up for the huge gain in inertia. Steelies and Azenis work, used 15x7s with Azenis work better.
