Bent my race wheel!!! *edit: fixed w/ pics*
Damn, I was driving home from work just now, still had my race wheels on since I had a race Sunday & im a lazy bastard. I was making a turn where there is this huge pothole right in the middle that I hit everytime, so I thought I would cut it close & dodge the pothole, since I didnt want to hurt my wheel on the pothole. Probably wasnt a great idae since I had been working all night & was very tired...BAMMM!!! I hit that curb hard!!! I am thinking oh my God, I didnt just do that, then I felt the car pulling to that side a little bit & the steering wheel shaking a little, so I pull over, there is this huge dent in my rim
Fortunately the tire is ok, thanks to Falkens uber stiff sidewall, but I fear that the rim is toast.
I think these rims are forged because it bend instead of braking, & I hit that ****** hard too, the damage isnt really that bad considering.
So, now what do I do?? It holds air & dosent viberate too much, but I seriously doubt it'll pass tech like this, & I dont want to race it anyway. Should I try to beat it out, or get a shop to press it out, would it be worth the trouble?? These wheels also seem to be a rare japanese wheel, of which I could find absolutely nothing on them online that wasnt in japanese. If anyone knows where I could buy a Kosei RT Maxi 15x7, please let me know.
I think im the meantime what ill do is buy 2 steelies from a junk yard, throw the Azenies on them & put them on the back with the lighter wider ones on the front. The extra wheight wouldnt affect much being on the back you dont think, as long as I have matched steelies back there?? I think after a while i'll buy 2 15x7 Rotas, & run mismatched till I can finish the set.
Any help would be apreciated guys, Im really bummed about this & need some advise. Thanks guys.
Edit: i'll throw up a pic of the carnage tonight.

That sucks. Kosei's are cast BTW. I think they are discontinued so you will have to check ebay, www.thepartstrader.com www.honda-acura.net www.hondatech.com www.sccaforums.com
Damn, that sucks. Where would you go for a bent wheel? One of my rh is bent a little. And 2 have light curb damage. I want to get them fixed when I buy new tires. Does anyone know a round about price that these people charge to fix wheels?

OK, I found this local wheel repair shop that will fix any damage for a flat fee of $129 per wheel. www.fixrim.com Is this a good price??
Thing is, I could do that, but then again I could buy 2 brand new Kosei K1s for that price. But I cant buy 4 wheels right now, I would be running mismatched for awhile. Plus, these wheels are lighter than the K1s.
This just sucks, if I fix the wheels ill be thinking I could have bought 2 brand new ones, & if I buy brand new ones, Ill be thinking I have these wheels I could have fixed...arggg
Either way, turning 1 inch too far caust me $300 bucks + mounting/balancing fees...damn, this is killing me.
Another question, the wheels are white(refer to sig, still waiting on a camera), if I get them repaired, will they repaint them for me?? Or will I have these silver spots all over them??

I just dropped it by that place. The guy was really cool, I was talking to him about AutoX, how they were my race wheels & everything. He said he likes to give racers the hook up, so he said $109 total for everything, & they would paint it.
I decided to hold off on the other one for now, since the damage wasnt really too bad. I'll get it done later, prolly in off-season.
I got pics of the damage. I'll post before & after pics when I can.
