Bless you Falken!
i finally got some decent tires on my car, a day before the event today. I am amazed how much better the car handels now, and how much more competitive i am, i actually beat some WRX's this time
As everyone has said, tires make a world of difference, can't wait to get a decent spring/strut setup now, really get it dialed in
I know everyone here has praised them, but i give another
to Falken Azenis, truely incredible tires

the Ziex 512, while a good tire. Doesent even come close to the Azeins in regards to dry traction.
Hawk, Glad you like the tires.... One thing, they get greasy when they overheat, so if you find your self sliding around when you konw you shouldnt be... well then you've over heated them and need to let them cool off. One trick is to get one of those chemical sprayers and misting the tires between runs.

yea i can tell they aren't gonna last very long, i'm looking at getting another set of 16's to mount them on, probably Rotas. The grip level is amazing compared to the other tires i had on there, and any tire i've had for that matter.

If you get a different set of wheels, try to make them as wide as possible. I thing we can mount a 7" wheel, but with your conversion you may be able to run a 7.5 especially with a 16. Trust me, those Falkens love to be mounted on wide wheels. The STS guys run the 205/50-15s on a 7.5" wheel...

Yea I had my first race with the new 12lb wheels w/ azenis last weekend. I hear ya on this one, its like you read all about them, then you finally get them on the track & youre like DAMNNN!!! I beat a WRX too, by like 2 seconds, I couldnt believe it. Im sure the driver sucked, but oh well hehe, that means I suck a LOT less
Its like, I actually feel competitive, instead of having fun & wishing I could hang.
I they havent posted the official times yet so I dont really know how well I did, but ill post them here as soon as I get em.

Damn dude...you need to invest in a friggin' water sprayer...
If you cooled them off after each run, you wouldn't have THAT much of a problem...WOW....I've never seen that before...
for DD the Ecsta MX are pretty sweet too, if yo ucan't afford to replace tires as quick as the Azenis require. Their wet traction is a little better too. They don't grip AS well as the Azenis on the track but they're up there
