since i'm selling my turbo kit i figure i might a well give up on trying to go fast in a straight line and see what i can do on a course. after selling my kit and giving some money to a family member i should have about $1k or so to get some strut bars and sway bars and whatnot (already got rims and wheels). even though i have a automatic i guess i can still autoX for the fun of it but am i gonna get times that would get me laughed at? does anyone here race their AT? i know it would be more exciting with a MT but i have to have some kind of fun with my car

Rep Power: 356 no one that autocrosses gets laughed at by other autocrossers... were just happy you came out
Plenty of people autocross with automatics, just go and have fun.
1st thing to look at getting.... wheels and tires. after that Shocks. then springs, and then get a good Sport alignment, then your anti-roll bars and chassis reinforcements

Rep Power: 0 agreed. the only real downside to autoxing/road racing an auto is that you have less control over the attitude of the car, which, can potentially shave hundredths or more off your time

And yes, PLENTY of people race with A/T's. AutoX is for EVERYBODY, that can drive, and we're just a bunch of week-end warriors. Sure, there's some people that are WAY into it, and actually COMPETE, but most of us are just there to have fun, learn and DRIVE!
So just give it a shot, and I bet you'll be addicted like we are!!!

Rep Power: 377 cool, this should be fun seeing how i'll actually have to drive the car rather then just putting my foot on the gas pedal. now i'll have to visit the suspension forum and start looking into sway bars, strut bars and stuff, lol.
