Hi guys,
I am looking to buy a Civic at some point soon, and I was looking for any advice anyone has on the process. This will be my first car and I wanted to get your opinions on which year is the best and any other tidbits of knowledge you might have. I am hoping to get one with relatively low mileage, but if there is any advice someone has about things I would be able to replace pretty inexpensively if I were to get one with higher mileage, that would be great. Budget is hopefully under 10k but I could go up to 13k if necessary. I’m a little hesitant to buy one that’s from the very early 2000s just because i’d general wear and tear but if any of you have older ones that you love, I’d love to hear about them! Thanks so much!
*I’m not looking for a car that has to be fixed up, I need one that’s going to be okay for a while right out of the lot

Re: introduction
I’d look at anything between 1992 and 2000. Great starter cars with aftermarket potential if that’s what you’re into. 2001-2005 are good but have some common issues that you won’t want to deal with.
High mileage is fine as long as it’s been maintained well. Share some ads if you want input.

Re: introduction
What's your budget? That'll help, too
But general tips if you're buying from a dealership: Don't tell them you're paying cash, don't tell them you have a target monthly payment. Also, shop around if there are multiple dealerships with the same-ish car. Use them against each other. Lol. But seriously, if you get quotes in writing, it may help get you better prices.
