Unhappy New member

Hello I am a new member to this site. I recently purchased my 2014 Honda Civic EX-L. I was so excited for this purchase and love my new vehicle. Its just something about knowing you were the first person to ride in this vehicle, well a consumer anyway. I've only had my vehicle long enough to make 2 payments on it so you can just imagine how upsetting it was to be rear ended a week ago at a stoplight. The person hit me going 45mph without breaking which knocked me into the person in front of me. The air bag deployed and I do have injuries along with looking at being out of work for at least a month, with surgery in the future. My biggest disappoint is to the damage done to my car. $13,483!!!! Even though the other person's insurance is going to pay for it I don't understand why they are not going to total it. I don't want to pay on a car for 5 more years that is no longer new!! Plus we don't know what kind of problems we will have down the road from this accident!! So I logged onto this forum to hopefully get some feed back on my situation

Welcome!

Uh, talk to your insurance agent about insurance work matters, maybe they would have advice for you.

If you do have to get it repaired, definitely research who you take it to. A good bodyshop can make it like new......but less than the best work (one moron) can literally ruin the car, and you might have no recourse.

I've seen both sides of this.
