Hi, All.

I bought a 2002 Civic from my late uncle about three years ago for my father, who passed a year and a half ago. Then, my mother took it over, but she passed two months ago.
After numerous trips to the DMV, I now own it. Hopefully, I'll be around for a while to enjoy it. It's only got 51K miles on it.
My concerns are the reputation these cars have for transmission problems, and the problem of vehicle theft (I live in NY). Hondas are stolen more than any other vehicle in the US.
I'll be bugging everyone for solutions to these and other problems, so get used to it!

Re: Hi, All.

sorry to hear. about the civic, the 01+ models are nowhere near stolen as much as the older years. not much interest in these with thieves. the trans could last a good while longer. just keep fresh fluid in there and watch for slipping between gears which could indicate problems down the road.

Thanks, Gearbox. They all were in their 90s, so we were expecting what usually happens at that age, but it's never easy...
Thanks for the advice!
