2000 Civic Hatchback
2000 Civic Hatchback
Hi Guys!
Looking to expand my knowledge a bit, offer my own, and to maybe co-ordinate with some fellow local owners for part-outs to enhance my vehicle.
She's Generation 6, 2000, DX, Hatchback, 1.6, stock. (Yep, the one that you almost never see stock).
Everything on her is stock besides the obvious maintenance items (belts, wires, plugs, brakes, etc.)
My biggest issue with this car is the doors and the windows. I started to learn about this model once the drivers-side window fell off the track (crank). Turns out, the increasing resistance on the rubber track caused the regulator to bend inwards to the car, forcing the window to lose it's place on the track. You heard a "CLUNK" and you go like this.
It was a losing battle of having to consistently take the door panel off, re-adjust the window, only for it to pop back off.
I finally replaced the rubber track (Honda OEM $86.00...) and the window works well, but all of the times taking the door panel off and trying to make it fit, the panel itself (where it hangs onto window crevice) started to break and now the door has no panel.
Recently, the same thing happened to the other door, the window popping off and such. I'm trying to find identical doors in their entirety so I may simply replace. (Doors are dinged up too, might as well scour junkyards / forums until I find a match!)
Thanks for listenniong
