I am new to the site, so sorry if the questions i ask sound a little stupid,

I have just bought a 2007 Honda Civic type s GT 2.2d, and i have noticed something a little unusual with the cooling fan

I only have to drive the car for about 5 miles (10 mins) or so, and upon coming to a standstill the cooling fan comes on for about 10 seconds then goes off, then comes back on after about a minute for another 10-20 secs then off again, and so on and so on

This is my first Civic and my first diesel too, so im not sure about this, I also have an old Honda prelude and ive only ever experienced cooling fans coming on after a long journey, or being stuck in traffic or the car ticking over on standstill for a long time

I might be worrying about nothing, and hopefully i am, just wondered if any of you guys could shed any light on this for me
