What's goin on everybody? Joining this site cuz I'm in serious need of help. I have a 2005 Honda Civic VP w/ 106,000 miles on it. I've had it for four years. I haven't taken care of it at all. I don't kno anything about cars, the only thing I've done has been oil changes and change the brakes in the time I've owned it. I wanna learn how to take care of my care but don't kno where to start. What do I need to have done to my car and how frequently? What do mechanics usually charge for things? What things would I be able to do by myself? Any information anyone can help me with would be great. Thanks in advance.

Welcome,
That's a hell of a title you've got for this thread. LOL. If you have an owners manual then there is a maintenance schedule in it that will tell you when, brake fluid, coolant, etc should be changed. If not, you can 'search' here for an owners manual or google for it. At 106K the #1 thing you should be looking at right now is changing the timing belt.

#1 thing, Change the timing belt if you havnt done it already. I took mine to honda when i first got it (2000 LX), and they charged me $480 to change it. three months later, it broke. I took the engine out, and apart. they had put brand new drive belta on it, but no the timing belt. pissed me off. took it to them, cuzz i wanted to make sure it was done right. it was the first time I ever took one of my cars to a shop for anything, and it was deffinatly the last. Changing the belt isnt hard. I have a good article on it i can post on here if you want.
