new guy from Cali

Hey everyone, I'm a 21 year old who just bought a 98 Civic HX. I have no real experience with cars though and haven't even done an oil change myself before. I'll be attempting to change the transmission fluid (manual) which I heard is easy and I might try to change the timing belt/water pump components myself. I'm also thinking of repainting the front and rear bumpers but I'm not sure yet. I'm also wondering how much it would cost to paint my own car (a new color) and how difficult it would be. I have patience and I wouldn't mind spending a lot of time on the car so I could learn some things. That pretty much sums up everything I'm thinking about doing to my car for now. If you have any advice for noobs then feel free to let me know.

Sure thing! I'll try to have pictures or maybe a video posted by tonight. I only have a small flipvideo cam though but it should turn out ok.

Whats up Mac! Here is one pic I took with my phone. It got dark before I could use my flip video cam since I was locked out the house. For some reason, the garage opener didn't want to work. Anyways, I'll post my pics in member rides once I get the chance.

Thanks! Btw, I'm thinking of using the method on this website to repaint my car's front and rear bumpers. What do you guys think? Any steps or products I should add? There are some scratches and large chips in the front bumper so I'm guessing I'll need to use filler or something if the plastic has been damaged.
