My name is Eric and i'm contemplating the purchase of a friend's 93 LX with 153,000 miles. Ran the carfax and everything seems clear.

I've only owned ford/lincoln products and one chevrolet even though i've almost owned honda's several times throughout the years. So, foreign is totally new to me.

He's letting the car go for under 1,000 since he needs the money soon. And the possible mpg as compared to my f150 driving roughly 2 hours per day sounds very attractive.

My suspension guy says it needs a new rack & pinion and cv axle. Haven't had a chance to take it to my mechanic for his opinion.

With the low cost of the car, I'm thinking if nothing is seriously mechanically wrong I might have a decent car on my hands.

Any ideas? Advice?
