Most of my Google searches regarding how to replace my shift **** on Saturday led me to this site.

So I thought I'd register and introduce myself!

Recently bought a Civic to replace a gas-guzzling Trailblazer that I only bought because at the time I had a gigantic dog. He passed away and I got tired of getting 15 mpg. Found a MT Civic at a local Honda dealer, had to have it.

I know almost nothing about modifying cars. I worked at the parts counter of a motorcycle shop for 2 years, and I was also a valet at a casino, so I can drive just about anything, but I have not done any work on the Civic more invasive than changing the air filter. I would like to do a bit to make it more fun to drive. I started with a new shift ****, thanks to you. Looking forward to learning more.

Oh, and one of my goals is to show the world that women can, in fact, drive well. Because, contrary to what 90% of the female population is trying to demonstrate by talking on their cell phones, not using their turn signals, driving slowly in the left hand lane, and being completely ignorant of how a four-way stop works, I do believe that there is a small percentage of women in the world who do know how to operate a motor vehicle.

Which shift **** did you get?
I use the buddy club one, real threads for the shifter (no plastic pieces to shim it), heavier, so makes shifting "feel" better.

And you would be surprised of the size of dogs i saw in the rear of a civic...

2005 Civic EX

It says Special Edition but I'm not sure what's so special about it.

The shift **** is a Momo. Nothing special about it, I just liked the name "Momo." Ha!

Welcome aboard! . Have fun learning stuff about your car. Everybody should know the basic ins and outs of automobile care, regardless of gender. I knew a guy who was twice my age that couldn't change a flat tire. I've come to the conclusion that American society, well a good chunk don't understand just how much responsibility they hold while behind the wheel.

I had an Element (special order) a couple years ago before I had the giant beast of a TB. Got me hooked on Honda. I'm glad, because this little manny tranny has been the MOST fun car I have ever owned!

Welcome aboard. I squeeze my dog into the back of my civic all the time, an SUV would be more convenient though because sometimes she like to sneak up and lick my face while im driving.
