Just got my first Civic...
Just got my first Civic...
Hi all, first post here...
I just purchased my first Honda... a 2008 Civic LX, Atomic Blue, 3,300 miles, AT.
I needed a car for my 100 mile per day commute. I got a great deal on this Civic and love it so far.
I already picked up some Husky Liners for it and wanted to pick up a bug deflector also.
Any recommendations? I want one more for to protect from stone chips in the winter than bugs.
Thanks and nice to meet everyone!

Welcome to the forum.
You got a good commuter there. I don't know about the bug deflector, but you might want to try the search feature maybe someone has started a thread about it in the past.

Re: Just got my first Civic...
Thanks. Never thought of a clear bra. I'll look in to it.
I'm a little disappointed in my gas mileage on the first tank. Only got 31ish. I bought this to replace my 2006 WRX is my commuter car. My WRX was getting 25-26 mpg and was hoping for at least 35. What's up with that? My lead foot?

matters how u drive, knowing me when i got a new car i floored it all the time but dont worry u will get there, got a 02 civic with 160k on it and still does 34 miles to a gallon
Re: Just got my first Civic...
My commute is about 48 miles one way. 45 of it is 4 lane highway. I do have some mountains / large hills to go up... which kills mileage, but going down them should make up for it. I usually go 77-78 in the 65 mph zone (about 10 miles of the 45) and about 68 or so in the 55 zone (most of the drive). I'm guessing the hills hurt the Honda more so than my WRX. The WRX has plenty of power to get up the mountains with little effort, but the Civic downshifts (automatic) to keep up the speed. I'll try this tank going slower up those mountains.
