Hello!
Re: Hello!
Sometime people mistake it when you get to 5k rpms cause it will get a little louder but that is the vtc kicking in. The k20a3 you cannot fell vtec at all but these cars are really good cars I love mine.
Re: Hello!
oh cool beans lol. i just want to make sure that it's not broken or something. and mad dog, thanks for reminding me, i totally forgot that autozone can read codes lol.
Re: Hello!
Lol ya alot of people dont know this when they first buy the ep3. You should go check out ephatch.com. Its a website just for our cars and its got tons of good info bout them.
Re: Hello!
Ya basically, hell my a3 is just as good as the z3 and I have just bolt ons without kpro. Its pretty good when the a3 that has economy i vtec and redlines at 6800 rpms with just bolt ons which are sri, dc race header and apexi noir exhaust that is 2 1/4 piping. Now when the z3 stock has real i vtec and redlines at 8000 rpms with 6 gears, and the exhaust on the new si is already 2" piping. Thats good as hell of the a3.

Re: Hello!
well just found out that i am officially a noob. So i get to autozone and have them check for codes and the scanner comes back with nothing, so i asked why my check engine light is on. Well come to find out it was my maint rec'd light. they couldn't tell me what that means lol they said my car might need an oil change. so what does that light mean?

Re: Hello!
its just a reminder for oil changes, regularly scheduled maintenance, etc.. Comes on at different intervals.
with the key in the off position, hold the odometer button, turn the car on, release button when maint req light goes away.. that's what it is for my 02 coupe, at least.. I can't imagine it being that much different to reset the light. 02civicsi02 might be able to hook you up with the actual reset procedure.

Re: Hello!
Ya the maintance required light is there for different schedules like oil change and other maintaince stuff. If you have the manual then it tells you in there which ones it tells you to do and when. It is probably a oil change so just change the oil then after that you can reset it by the trip meter button. Hold it for 10 secs with the car off and the key on off then hold it for 10 more secs with the key to the on position and it should go off if not hold it till it does.
