So because of a craigslist impulse buy, (which I am prone to) I am now the proud owner of a 95 Honda civic Si Coupe!
I don't know much about the car but I've decided to make it my winter project. I'm moving 300 km north of toronto and need something to in the shop for the season.
So about the Car.
I bought this car off craigslist for $700 from the original owner. He Maintained the car fairly well, retaining most of the service records, owners manual ect. He even gave me the 15 year old honda key chain he got with the car.

It has 283000kms on it, but runs very well. No ticking or exhaust leaks, lots of clutch left.
I'm not looking to turn this into the next rice mobile on my street but hope to do a little body work, small performance modifications, and really just see how long I can drive a 700 dollar car for.
Anyways, I look forward to learning more about my car from you guys!

Re: Howdeeedooo
Welcome to forums!
I was scrolling down the pix, going "hmm, this is a nice buy, the color is fading, but overall looks decent
....
Engine bay..."OMG! HELL HOLE!"

Oh, and the correct terminology is "Rice Rocket"
Btw, Even though it may be serviced a lot, I would still do a self reassurance right after buying any car, including
Fluid change (engine, tranny, brake, clutch, radiator...etc)
Brake inspection
Ground wire changing (especially in this old of a car)

Hi and good luck with your Civic. I just joined today. I am new to the forum as well. I have a 96 EX coupe. I need to replace the brake lines going to the rear. Does anyone know how the plastic track that surrounds the brake and fuel lines come down? I have removed the screws but it seems like there is still something holding the track to the lines.
Thanks and again, good luck with your project.

Haha. Yea engine bay needs some serious cleanup. Whats the best way to clean some of these parts?
I've already checked the brakes. I ended up replacing both rear drums. I also did the drivers side control arm while I was at it. I've also already replaced the oil, and filter. New coolant. haven't changed the tranny fluid. Was hoping somebody could tell me what kind works best.
