new to the forum

my name is brandon i drive a 95 civic ej2. i guess im here for information. i would like to build an h2b for my civic. i do have the motor trans and hp goal in mind. im looking at using the h22a1 with a b18c5 trans. my goal is 800+ hp. im building the car for front wheel unlimited road track racing. this will be my first full build by myself with out out sourcing anything, so any information i can get would be greatly appreciated. i would post pics of the car but at this point in time it is kind of an embarrassment to look at as i am fixing most of the damage from the previous owner. i made the mistake of selling the car to someone that did not see the need to take care of it so i made them an offer and bought it back and now its time to tear into it. but anyways im going to post my questions in the correct thread and see what yall have to offer for advise on my build.

Re: new to the forum

700 bucks is not worth putting a b series tranni on a h series motor. Just swap a k24 in it and be done lol.

Re: new to the forum

could do that but to buy the k24 will cost me about 2500 more just in parts let alone the extra crap like mounts and what not. plus the itr trany will hold up better in the type of racing that im building the car for than the k trany will. or so ive been told. if you have any information as to the trannies please let me know because that is one thing that i know absolutly nothing about i can change the clutch pull and install any trans but thats it

Welcome to the forum. I will be interested to see how you get 800+ hp out of a 4 banger. How exactly do you plan to accomplish?

Re: new to the forum

I would also like to see this 800hp Civic.I don't think I've ever seen one with this much horsepower. It's gonna cost him a lot though. On his other thread,he stated he spent over $300,000 on a Supra to get like around 700hp.Not sure if he's for real, but seems interesting.

Re: new to the forum

800 whp is possible but take alot and alot of work and money and alot of time tuning. I have seen civics with over 800 whp. There is a shop bout 30 mins away from me that has one that has 896 whp forgot torque. But of course this is there shop car/drag car. The only way they had that much money to put into a car was cause of the money they make there.

I have heard stories of this guy that owns this salvage yard where I live that has the fastest civic on the east coast or of anywhere. He works at import auto salvage in NC and has a 89 civic hatch that runs 4 secs in a 1/4 of a mile. Ya I was like in a 1/4 of a mile no but it was true.

I also know the guy jason goforth that got on pinks all out in the crx and placed third. But all these guys owns shops and has sponsors and stuuf like that to build there cars.

I must see that 4 second Civic.I'm not sure if this guy can get his Civic over 800hp if he didn't have those sponsors the guys you mentioned had.

Re: new to the forum

I call BS on a 4 second civic. Nitro Funny cars barely pull 4's. No way a front wheel drive, zero downforce 4 banger is going to do that. 800+ hp is already a stretch, you guys are either lying throught your teeth or believe someone elses BS

The fastest civic's in the world barely pull 9's. Total BS!

The fastest in the world pulled a 7.9. You can go tell your friend that he just beat the world record by 3.9 seconds lol

Re: new to the forum

I could almost tell you that it probably is not a 4 banger in it and is not FWD. I am not sure that he did it but I have heard from everyone round my town that he did. And the fastest civics are not in the 9s. I have seen videos on you tube that show you they are not. There is a guy on ephatch that runs 8.3's and have seen others run 7.5. And sorry no video.

Re: new to the forum

800 hp is not impossible and yes it does cost alot of money as far as my supra most of the money was spent fitting the car for the motor. as most people know an 87 supra comes with a 7mgte not a 2jz. takes alot of modification. this is something that i had to do twice concidering that i hit a concrete barrier at about 45 mph and compleatly totaled the entire side of the car. as far as bs i said that i had 300k into the car not the motor. thats custom bodykits shiped in front end extention bell housing modified building the trans and i had it all done at a shop not done by me costs a little more that way. there were also other things like stronger drive axles and all the dress up work.

as far as civics to the highest hp single over head is 500+ hp so hitting 800 hp is not going to be that difficult to hit just time and money not to mention that my boss has already agreed to sponsor the car so im pretty sure that i can take a duel over head 2.2 vtec and hit 800 hp with new sleaves larger pistions lighter crank stronger rods and compleatly redone head and one really big *** turbo.

i also have a buddy in florida that had an 02 civic pushing 769 hp to the front wheels and another person that was pushing 6something in a 96 hatch. its all in doing your research and knowing what your doing on how much hp you can make and then getting it tuned correctly

Re: new to the forum

as far as the swaps to if you havent realized yet i like to do things differently hence the 2jz in a 87 supra and my goal of a h2b in the civic. i understand that i could put a b18 or a k24 but what is the point of doing something that everyone is doing. ever since the k series hit the market it seems that that is all people want and the b series well thats the easiest swap in the world but to do something different like a 800 hp fwd H2B no body has it and that is why i want it.

I know plenty of people that do the h2b swap. The b,h, and k swaps are all bout the same with each other really. Those are the 3 major swaps. And everyone does the k swap cause it is the best 4 cylinder motor that honda has made yet. It has put out more and better numbers then any of the others.

I didn't say 800+ hp was not possible. I have had 2 gst eclipse's and I have seen those get well into to 700's so I know it can be done. But 4 seconds is impossible. I would say that you would have to be boosting over 35 psi and bore, stroke, sleeve, forged everything, all aftermarket hardware, a good machine shop, port, polish, large valves, huge cams, springs, retainers, intake throttle body, fuel regulator, fuel rail, fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel lines, Nitrous, second fuel pump, meth injection, dogbone tranny, axles, brakes tires, wheels, interior stripped, fiberglass doors trunk one piece front end, custom tubular frame/chassis, brakes, and really cool paint adds a extra 30hp also lol

But I still say get a rear wheel drive if you want to drag race. Just my .02
