First time Civic owner. (pics inside!)
Hey everyone, just bought my very first Honda Civic today.
Before I get to the Civic, let me provide a bit of background of how this came to be.
My first car was a 2002 Chevy Cavalier. Earlier in the year I was rear-ended at a stop light, ended up totaling the car, and got $5k for it. At the time I needed something immediately to get to and from school and the best option at the time was a '99 Ford Mustang Convertible. Not bad but I couldn't justify working part-time and spending 25% of my paychecks each month on gas alone. Plus, who knows what these Illinois winters would do to a convertible that is outside 24/7.
I listed my Mustang for sale and got a buy 3 days later for $500 more than I paid for it. Now began the quick process of finding a car within a week or two before the next semester of school starts.
After much driving around to different dealerships, I stumbled upon this absolutely gorgeous '04 Honda Civic. The price range was definitely pushing my high end limit, but after giving the car a test drive and fully testing it out, I just fell in love.
I ended up purchasing the car for $11k with an included lifetime warranty on the Engine/Transmission.

Clean is an understatement.. that thing looks brand the eff new.. Well, except for the top of the grill and a small dark spot below #2 cylinder's coil pack on the valve cover.. But nice nonetheless. Welcome to the forums!
There's a lot of good info on these forums. You just gotta be willing to search for it. If all else fails, there are a lot of people willing to help steer you in the right direction, all you gotta do is ask
P.S. Boo on the auto tranny

Thinking I might be taking the car out for a little drive today.
I wish it was a manual as well. But unfortunately I can't go to a dealer, see an amazing used car, and then ask for it in a manual.
Any must have mods that need to be done to an '04 civic?

The best mod is to transplant a LS1 with a T56 Transmission and a Cobra IRS rear end. But if you don't have the money for that, then most people like intake and exaust and rims and junk.
