Exclamation An old dog trying to learn new tricks

Hey guys
Im here in St.Louis.--getting ready to buy a 99 Civic hatch with a B16A2 swap and some bolt on goodies, now the only reason i knew what to type for the kind of engine it was because one of my techs is a Honda guru of sorts.
Like the look of the hatch like the fact its so light, still have to get used to the whole power band thing...im 50 and im used to engines that twist the front fenders up when you launch...
BUT im always looking to learn it puts 192hp to the wheels which im told is a good number...so bear with an old guy..anything that can do low 13's and still get 30+ miles to the gallon impressed the hell out me.

My tech told me to spend 300 and get a VTEC controller..so we will see how that goes.Soon ill be on here asking help for the turbo i have to put on this...

Thanks all
Bob

Sounds cool, and I know what you mean I'm Coming off of an 84 Monte Carlo with a stoked out LT1 (383), I have a 96 coupe, with the Stock D16Y8 (POS) and I'm saving for a B18B1 Swap. It's funny how we Muscle car guys get sucked into tunning hondas, but There is so much you can do to them that is hard not to. Any ways good luck.

Talking Re: An old dog trying to learn new tricks

Well i drove it home today, about a 22 mile one way drive.Check everything out a lift to make sure it was safe, never take anyones word on that.
Changed the oil put Mobil 1 5W20 in it Bosch filter fresh engine about 5K on it so im sure its broken in.I have to tell you it was a blast,i was cruising along at 65 mph and it cleared ahead of me for about a mile so i shifted into 3 rd and planted my right foot and off we went in no time i hit 110 mph..and the sound it makes when you get past 7K is just just plain sweet..i not trying to get anyone hurt so i quickly got it down where it belonged...but damn im hooked..
