Howdy

I just joined this forum a few minutes ago, and figured this would be the best place for a first post.

I haven't bought my Civic yet, but I've been driving a loaner 95 hatch for 3 months now. My loaner's going back to its owner in a couple weeks, so I'll be looking for one to buy at that point. I like the loaner's gas mileage as opposed to my older gas hog 78 Chevy truck, which got maybe 15 MPG on a good day. I'm not really looking for a ride to mod too much, just something to commute in that gets good MPG, is reasonably comfortable, and is somewhat easy/cheap to maintain. As such, I've decided to try and find a mid-90s Civic.

Do you guys have any advice on what I should keep my eyes out for?

Thanks in advance,
Will

Re: Howdy

I'd stick with a 97-00 Civic and go with an EX model so it at least has VTEC (for a little gruntyness) and all the power accessories to make things convenient. This way if anything ever breaks, you have a thousand different options for spare parts, the ride is decent, and if you do decide to mod it at all, your options are pretty much wide open. If you can find an Si model that hasn't been beat to ****, you'll get a little more bang for buck from the DOHC engine it packs. My .02.
