I've been driving my first car, a 2000 Focus around for about a little more then a year now, and it's given me nothing but problems...namely, the car liked to stall and lights and idle rough as all hell. Nothing I did fixed the problem, and I really didn't want to know what kind of problems the car would have 4 years down the road when I'm in college. My parents have had Hondas forever, and I was always planning on buying a Civic at some point in the future, but thought it would probably be in college in a few years when the Focus bit the dust. Turns out that that whole timetable was thrown out the window, and I know have an 01 Civic. I'm pretty excited...the Focus had a good aftermarket, and I had the car lightly modded, but the number of parts available for the Focus is microscopic to what I've seen for the Civic in only one day...I'm pretty damn excited, and glad to be here.

good louck with your new civic. Just to let you know now our D17 series engines are not very responsive to bolt-ons. If you want good power gains save for a turbo or engine swap.
Also is it an auto or manual? The reason I ask is because 01 civics have a known problem with the manual tranny.

yeah autos in a 01 civic have bad trannies too. manuals have less probs. here look at this.

nice job civics are great...have two want another ha....my friend has a focus nothing but problems 4 him too...trying to talk him into a civic but hes leaning more towards prelude....either way better than focus...
